Exact change.....this one is a little bit tricky. If your total is something simple like 12.50 or 10.75 exact change is welcome! Usually we won't mind exact change so long as there isn't a whole lot of coins or different dollar amounts involved. And when it's a little bit slower, we might not mind the sorting process of all that money. However, during the lunch rush, handing the cashier 4 ones, a 5 and 10 as well as a fist full of change is not a welcome sight. There is a trend of this blog, and that is to remind you that we have time goals!! Having to sort all that change and put the money away in the correct spots in pretty time consuming. We want to get you your food fast, and we can't really do that having to spend a whole minute putting away money!! I know a minute doesn't sound like a lot to you now. But just think of how long that minute is when you're hungry and waiting ever so impatiently for your food.
While we are discussing exact change, waiting until you get to the window is not the time to decide that you have that change! Oh, I have that 97 cents! Really? Really? Do you? Well you should have gotten it before you got here. Like you didn't know that that was your total......so now, I have to not only put away that 97 cents, which I'm sure is mostly pennies, but I have to wait for you to fish it out of your purse, your cup holder and the floor of your car. Way to put us behind. All because you didn't want 3 whole pennies? Anything we can do help I guess.
The best thing to do, honestly, in drive thru is have a credit or debit card. I know that not everyone has this and I know sometimes you have the cash on you, which truly isn't the problem. But there is nothing we like better then a fast credit card transaction to get the line moving. Cash is becoming a thing of the past, but if you have to use it, if you could just make it a little easier on us during that busy rush time of lunch and dinner. Thanks! And happy eating.
